Google LinkColorectal cancer is one of the greatest causes of cancer related mortalities on the global scale. In the context of cancer chemotherapy, synthetic lethality is a recent paradigm where interaction of two genes is explored, such that simultaneous inhibition or silencing of both the genes becomes lethal for the cancer cells while bearing least impact on the healthy cells. Our research deals with the formulation and characterization of novel nanoparticles for drug delivery purposes for synthetic lethal therapy mediated targeting of colorectal cancer. Most of the anti-cancer compounds have various limitations like solubility issues, poor bioavailability and off target effects which restrict their employability in the clinical platforms. To surpass these limitations, we develop customized nanoparticles for enhanced therapeutic efficacy and selective or targeted therapy of cancer. Our lab is focused on to develop inflammation-targeting carriers using biocompatible materials for the therapy of RA and UC.
