Development of efficient Spin-pumping heterostructures

Heterostructures comprising bilayers of FM and heavy metal HM are of immense significance in spintronics as they allow the realization of various useful phenomena related to the conversion of spin current to charge current. Dr. Indranil Sarkar's group is developing ferromagnet (FM)/ Heavy non-magnetic metal (HM) bilayers for the creation of novel spintronic applications that can act as efficient spin-pumping platforms.  Novel strategies and intrinsic understanding to enhance spin pumping in these heterostructures are being developed. . A magnetization dynamics lab has been developed for these studies.
